Michelle Osborne-Spencer, PA
Michelle was born and raised near Beaumont, Texas. She attended Lamar University and completed her degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in Physician Assistant Studies and received her national board certification as a Physician Assistant in 1986. She has worked in labor and delivery, as well as providing women's care to many of the clinics UTMB serves throughout Texas. She and Dr. Steven Spencer were married in 1987 and she transferred to UT Health Science Center in Houston and worked for the Department of Family Practice in the medical center, where Dr. Spencer was completing his residency. Dr. Spencer opened his family practice in Memorial City in 1990, where she worked part-time, while raising their two young boys. She also practiced medicine in other area offices during this time in the areas of OB/GYN, Family Practice and Occupational Medicine. She rejoined Dr. Spencer when his practice moved to Katy, Texas in 1998 and she and Dr. Spencer have worked together since. "It's never been an issue to work together as husband and wife", Michelle states, "because Dr. Spencer and I were practically trained together and have worked together all along."
Michelle enjoys all aspects of family medicine with an emphasis on preventive health. She believes there is nothing to compare to the joy of watching a patient take charge of their health, stop smoking, lose excess weight and adopt healthy eating habits. She sees the patient as a whole. If we can help patients with chronic conditions to adopt a healthy lifestyle, it reduces the negative effects of disease on the body. This requires a partnership between patient and practitioner, and she is committed to doing her part by educating and encouraging patients to achieve wellness.
Michelle is also trained in the area of aesthetics. She believes it is important for a patient to take care of themselves from the inside out. By enhancing the way the skin appears, it's like frosting on the cake! Along with treating patients for their health care needs, she also has been offering a variety of skin and aesthetic treatments since 2006. It's total body wellness. |
